Info & FAQs...

We want your stay at Marsh Farm to be as stress free and welcoming as possible. Here you can find all the information about what we offer during your stay...

Information...

Check-In/Out - Check-in is from 3pm, check-out is by 10am. We offer a late check-out up until 11.30am for an additional £15.

Off-Grid - Our shepherd hut is entirely off-grid. This means that the lighting and fridge/freezer are solar-powered. Consequently there are no 3-pin electric sockets for charging any devices, but there are 2 USB sockets. There's a handy display on the wall that will tell you how full the solar batteries are.

If you need to heat the hut, there is a small but very efficient log burner. This will be set up ready for your arrival with clear instructions on how to use it in the welcome pack. If you need more logs during your stay you can purchase these on site for £6 a bag.

We also have bags of coal for the BBQ at £4 as well as a coal/chimney accelerator and firelighters, and bags of hardwood logs for the firepit for £12. You are of course welcome to bring your own.

Being off grid doesn't mean skimping on the luxury, however - the hut is equipped with a walk-in rainfall shower and fully flushing loo. She is connected to the mains water supply too, so no need to bring any extra water.

Children & Dogs - As we have free-ranging sheep, chickens and ducks, unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets on site. The hut is also not big enough to accommodate children.

Sheep & Lambs - Our small flock of sheep, and their lambs, graze the field surrounding the hut during certain times of the year. There is a picket fence to keep them from entering the hut but please be aware that there may be sheep around and close all gates after yourselves. It does mean that you may wake up to see them strolling past the window!

Parking & Directions - We will send out detailed directions on how to find us upon booking. Parking is at the entrance to the meadow with space for one car. From there it is a short walk across the mown path to the hut. There will be a festival trolley to transport your luggage, but please be aware that we have free-ranging sheep for part of the year and the grass may be wet, so bring suitable footwear!

Picnics - The hut is surrounded by a picket fence to keep your woolly neighbours off. However, there will always be a mown area just outside if you would like to relax in the meadow with a glass of something and a picnic.

Hay-Making - During the summer we make hay from our fields, which we give to our local farmer to feed his cattle. We ask, therefore, that you respect the mown paths and don't trample the long grass as this makes it impossible to cut for hay.

FAQs...

Can I buy produce from the Farm? Yes! We aim to make your stay as carbon-neutral and effortless as possible. We raise our own lamb, hogget and mutton on the farm as well as pork, so we usually have sausages, chops & burgers depending on availability. We also have jams, chutneys and preserves, and apple juice from our own orchard.

Is there a fridge? Yes! We have a beautiful retro cream Montpellier 12 volt fridge, and best of all, it has a freezer section too to keep your ice in.

Can I plug in my hairdryer/laptop/etc? No sorry! As our hut runs on a 12 volt solar system, there are no 3-pin sockets, just 2 USB ports.

Is there Wifi? Sorry, we do not have Wifi down in our fields. We do, however, have very good 4G signal.

Is it a glamping pod? No! It's a shepherd hut! Glamping pods tend to be more basic in their amenities, effectively serving  as a wooden tent. Our luxury shepherd hut has a king sized bed, Egyptian cotton linen, an en suite bathroom and more!
