A Christmas market stall with lots of lights and gifts

Who doesn’t love a bit of Christmas shopping? Ok, well, maybe not everyone, but there is something rather magical about wandering around an outdoor market drenched in fairy lights whilst sipping a hot chocolate or glühwein.

Bath Christmas Market: Always a popular one, Bath Christmas market runs from 28th November until 15th December. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bath is always worth a visit, but it truly comes alive to the twinkling lights and the buzz of the stallholders over the festive period. The market feature some of the best independent makers from the South West (a bit like South West Makers!) and stalls are located throughout the cobbled streets. It is popular though, so do plan ahead for parking!

Glastonbury Frost Fayre & Medieval Market: This only takes place over two days – the 30th November and 1st December, but promises to cram an awful lot in. We wouldn’t expect anything less from magical, mystical Glasto! The Frost Fayre is incredibly popular and includes a market, various activities, live performances, all day buskers and free entry into the Abbey. The organisers promise ‘An extravaganza of seasonal magnificence when our community comes together to celebrate ‘peace and goodwill to All’ at this festive time of year.’

Langport Christmas Market: This may be on a much smaller scale, but as it’s our much loved local town and only 3 miles from us here at Marsh Farm Glamping, it deserves both a shout out and a visit! The Langport Christmas Market takes place on the 21st November on Cocklemoor island, and will feature a whole host of stallholders, live music and food and drink. there will be late night shopping available too.

Clarks Village Christmas Artisan Market: If you’re not familiar with Clarks Village, then you have clearly not achieved your gold star in shopping savvy! Located just a mile away from Glastonbury, Clark’s is an outlet shopping village in the heart of Somerset. From the 29th November, however, they are also hosting their Artisan Market. Filled with unique gifts and local delicacies there’s sure to be something that you, or someone you know, definitely needs in their stocking!

Hestercombe Christmas Market: If you want to combine a bit of gift shopping with a visit to an historic house and gardens, then hit Hestercombe for your festive fix. The market is only on from 15th-17th November so make sure you don’t miss out  - visitors to the market will also benefit from free admission to the house, gardens and art gallery.

Low Ham Church in the Field Christmas Fair: On the other end of the scale, our neighbouring village of Low Ham has its very own church in a field, built around 1620. They will be hosting a fair on 19th November with gifts ‘interesting items’ and refreshments available.
