Twelve Perfect Glamping Presents for the Pampered Camper in your Life
'If you have much, give of your wealth; if you have little, give of your heart.' Proverb
As the festive season hurtles towards us like the Polar Express, are you wondering what to buy the glamorous camper in your life?
Whether they’re a hard-core happy camper or a glamping greenhorn, we have the ultimate glamping gift guide to spread some holiday cheer. So grab a hot chocolate (with or without marshmallows), cosy up by the log fire, and let’s dive right in.
I’m going to split this guide into two parts: cool glamping gifts to take on your glamping adventure, and glamping adventures for those unforgettable experiences.
The Polar Express. Well, one of them...
Cool Glamping Gifts:
1) Outdoor Speakers for Jamming Under the Stars
Imagine sitting under the stars, next to a crackling fire pit, glass of wine in hand, surrounded by nature. The only thing missing? Your perfect soundtrack to life. Whether it’s chilled out bliss in the bathtub or upbeat vibes round the campfire, an outdoor speaker is a must-have for any camping or glamping trip. This handy guide from the Evening Standard lists all sorts of lanterns, from rustic to radiant.
2) Mossie Massacre Killing the Buzz?
Is your partner a mosquito’s idea of an entre and an appetiser rolled in to one? Do night-flying bugs bug the bejesus out of you? Then this gift combo is the bees knees: citronella candles repel those mithering mossies, whilst the Bite Away instantly neutralises painful stings so you can keep your buzz all night long.
3) Campfire Cooking for the Firepit Foodie
Does your other half live for campfire cooking, whilst you dread the burnt burgers and undercooked sausages that are the inevitable result? The Camping Cookbook will elevate their culinary capability from sausages and skewers to one-pot wonders, gourmet s’mores and more.
From boring burgers to fabulous feasts...
4) Campfire Gin for Toasting
Whilst toasting your marshmallows over the fire pit, why not toast each other with a bottle of Campfire Gin from the beautifully named Puddingstone Distillery? Or toast to the Tor with the Spirit of Glastonbury – locally distilled, lovingly handcrafted and utterly delicious (I can personally attest to the last bit!).
5) Wellies for Wandering
If you’ve stayed at Marsh Farm Glamping, then you’ll know it’s a short stroll across a private meadow to the shepherd hut (and if you haven't, check out our Welcome video to see exactly what I'm talking about). At certain times of the year the sheep will be in residence, quietly munching away in the background. Stilettoes and winkle-pickers are of no use to you here, my friend. If you’re booking a romantic retreat as a Christmas present, why not buy a pair of stylish wellies for your other half as the perfect accompaniment? Dewy morning or an evening stroll to the local pub? Sorted.
The short stroll across the meadow, heading to our award-winning local pub...
Glamping Getaways for those Unforgettable Experiences:
For the happy camper who has it all, why not treat them to a glamping getaway? Time spent away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life with the chance to unplug, kick back and unwind really is priceless.
Here at the farm we offer gift vouchers for any amount from £30 upwards, to put towards a stay in our shepherd hut. Whilst here, there are plenty of fun and fabulous local things to do, that can also be booked as gifts. That's a double win-win in my book!
Feeling Flighty? Take off into the blue with a microlight experience at Westonzoyland, just 20 minutes away from the farm. Flights can be booked for 30, 45 or 60 minutes and include the opportunity to take the controls and give it a go for part of the flight’s duration.
If your partner’s feet are firmly on the ground, how about a tandem bike-ride for two? We are lucky enough to have Somerset Tandem Hire right here in the village, so if you’ve never given this mode of transport a go, now’s your chance. This blog by Vicky Balfour will tell you all you need to know about these bicycles made for two…
A tandem bicycle. Period dress and high-wire strictly optional...
Why not hire a tandem and cycle over to Smith and Evans Vineyard for a self-guided vineyard tour followed by wine tasting? Or, for the wet and wild, how about learning to stand up paddleboard (SUP) on the nearby River Parrett?
Finally, but by no means least, Rifleman Firearms in neighbouring Hambridge offer everything from have-a-go beginner sessions on their shooting range, to tactical training classes. Surprisingly good fun especially if you or your other half has a competitive streak! You could even combine a session with a gift voucher from the Brown and Forest Smokery, located right next door. They have a wonderful café and specialise in the finest hot and cold smoked foods.
So there you have it - twelve glamping gift ideas from unforgettable memories to outdoor must-haves. All you need to do is pick, wrap and relax!
